WHSC recommends the following coaching clinics  http://www.peterfewingsoccercamp.com/adult.html (Note: Does not earn credits towards WSYSA coaching licenses.)

Here's a view of registration from the coach's perspective:

Step 1. Call Your Age Director
Please contact your age director first (if you already haven't) and tell them if you are going to be coaching a team this year. You should give them a list of players who hope to play on your team this year. Players registering after August 1 and players who haven't paid by August 1 are not guaranteed placement on your or any team.
This step is important and should be done ASAP!!!

Step 2. Get the word out to your players
Your players need to register for your team. They can register by logging on to www.westhighlinesoccer.com, clicking the Registration link, and following the instructions on that page. One thing to make sure is to tell them to complete the payment step even if paying by check. There is the option there in the payment area. After completing payment, they should receive a medical waiver .pdf file over e-mail. They need to print this, sign it, and turn it in to you. If they didn't play for West Highline last year, they must turn in a birth certificate as well. Note that this doesn't have to be a certified copy!

If you have a player without computer access, please ask the team manager or a teammate to help. Please make sure that the player is registered under their own member account, not the member account of the coach/manager/team member.

Step 3. Register yourself as Coach
Please register on-line, ensuring that you complete the correct registration. As part of our on-line registration process, your details will automatically be submitted for RMA clearance. If cleared, you will receive your Washington State-issued Risk Management Card in the mail. If you already have you a valid RM card, you will automatically be submitted for renewal of clearance upon expiration of current card.

All volunteers must have a valid Risk Management number prior to serving in any capacity with our club.

Step 4. Recruit an Assistant Coach and/or Manager
In the event that only one volunteer has registered for a team and that volunteer is unable to attend a game or practice, the game or practice will be cancelled. Please make sure that you have at least one additional registered and risk-management cleared volunteer prior to the start of the season i.e. first practice.

Step 5. Collect paperwork and monitor players
Collect the signed medical waivers, birth certificate copies for new to WHSC players and any checks that may be given to you instead of sent directly to the club. Keep the original medical waivers on hand at all games and practices. The club does not need a copy of the medical waivers. If your players did not receive a medical waiver, you can retrieve this for them. Log in through the administrative log on area with the instructions, userid, and password you received. Click the team you want in the left hand window. Then click the player you want and click Print Forms.

A note about birth certificates

All birth certificates are scanned and stored digitally, using a widely-recognized and standardarized, encryption system called Pretty Good Privacy (PGP), These files are stored offline on a CD for your protection. If we're missing certificates for your team, you'll get an e-mail a few weeks before registration closes reminding you to turn them in.

Send copies of birth certificates/proof of age to PO Box 48193, Burien WA 98148.

Thank you for your precious volunteer time and your willingness to coach a team!
